[He would have offered her his help long before now rather than simply sit and watch her struggle, but it didn't seem like the sort of gesture a gentleman would make towards a woman he barely knew.

So he had attempted to be polite, turning his attention away from her. Until she called out to him and he turned around and was met with honestly the most amusing sight he's experienced in quite a while.]

[Coming over, his hands find the top part of her dress, mindful of where he places his hands, and tugs carefully.]

[She does as she's told, and when he finally finds her she is scowling, uncharacteristically.]

I should like dresses well enough, but this one is a trial.

[She tugs things into place, adjusts things.]

How to ladies here manage such garments?

I am afraid I wouldn't know.

[The only people he had ever helped dress were his mother and sister and their dresses were nothing like this.]

Are you in need of something else to wear?

[Because he'll offer her one of his shirts if there's nothing more suitable. They would likely be long enough on her to be comfortable.]

My robes look much like a costume to most here. I intended to wear them.

[She looks at his robes, and fiddles a little with the peak of the hood.]

It is so that it makes you look a bit like a falcon, it is true.

[What a wonderful miss opportunity dressing him like a bird would have been.]

Perhaps I could pass for one then. Although it would seem my wings have been clipped.

I had a falcon who could not fly. He was still a beautiful thing.

[She smiles a little, and comes in a little closer. It's perfectly innocent.]

[She reminds him of his sister, of Claudia, and it makes him miss her all the more. But it also endures her to him in a way. And so he takes it as nothing more than an innocent gesture.]

[She smiles at him, gently enough.]

[He nods in answer, returning her smile with an equally gentle one.]

[Her smile widens and she giggles.]

I should think it strange, for lionesses do not have manes!

[But she's laughing now, and she moves to hug him.]

So they don't. Perhaps I should say you make a very handsome lion instead.

[It's a little bit surprising when she moves to hug him, but he doesn't hesitate to return the soft show of affection, wrapping his arms around her gently.]
